Studio One is one of the leading dance schools in Saskatoon. At our studio, we aim to encourage a widespread love of dance, welcoming children and adults who can’t help but feel the rhythm!

Established in 1995, we aim to create a positive, welcoming environment which is encouraging for all.

About Studio One

Located within the City of Saskatoon, Studio One is one of the most comprehensive dance studios in the area. We have 4 beautiful studios and 8 styles of dance to offer for students from ages 18 months to 18 years.

To ensure classes are suitable for those who attend, we teach 80 classes per week to accommodate a range of styles, age groups and abilities. Whether your child is aiming for a professional career or wants to express their love of dance, build their confidence and make new friends, we have a class that’s suitable.

The teachers at Studio One have a range of experience across disciplines and a focus on family. Our collective approach is to share our love of dance while being supportive and encouraging.

Our vision is to create a world where everyone can access the magic of dance. We have witnessed first-hand how dance can build character, confidence and friendships. This beautiful, enriching artform is an incredible tool to teach body awareness, self-discipline and teamwork. Through our service of teaching dance, we strive to provide exceptional guidance and leadership to our students. While striving to instil the importance of etiquette and discipline, we also focus on good self-esteem and positive body image.

Miss Tammy Tropeau

Owner and Director

Tammy Tropeau began her professional dance training at the age of nine at The National Ballet School in Toronto. After six years of study in both the Vaganova and Cecchetti methods with such teachers as Ms. Oliphant, Mr. Luc Amyot, and Karen Kain, Tammy graduated in 1992.

After a short professional training program in Philadelphia Tammy realized that her feet were failing and underwent reconstructive surgery on both feet. She then returned to The National Ballet School for an additional two years for their Professional Teacher Training Program. Tammy graduated in 1994 and holds her Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced Cecchetti certificates as well as her Associate Imperial Society Teachers of Dancing certificate allowing her to place students into examinations. At the age of 19 Tammy returned to Saskatoon to open her own studio – Studio One RP Dance. Since then she has been invited to Spain to study Flamenco dance, traveled to New York, LA, Las Vegas, Minneapolis, Boston and Arizona to study new dance techniques. She also returns to Toronto annually for Cecchetti seminars to continue her training.

Along with being a studio owner, Tammy stays involved in the busy lives of her family of 4 children and husband. She is looking forward to sharing her passion of dance with the students and instructors of Studio One for the 26th year, and is excited to see what the upcoming seasons will bring!

Miss Shauna Engdahl

Dance Instructor

Shauna has been part of the teaching staff at Studio One since 1999. Shauna began dancing at the age of 3 and quickly realized that dancing was her passion.

Over the years she studied a variety of styles of dance and enjoyed competing and showcasing her abilities for which she received numerous awards. She has enjoyed traveling throughout North America over the years to train with various choreographers and industry leaders in dance. She went on to achieve her BCOMM degree from the University of Saskatchewan and is the co-owner of a dance competition.

These days she focuses on teaching ballet to preschool aged children. She feels so lucky to be able to share her love of dance with so many tiny dancers.

Miss Andrea Fontaine

Dance Instructor

Andrea has had a passion for the arts for the majority of her life. She began dancing at the age of 3 and is trained in a variety of styles. Her main focus however, is Contemporary and Acrodance. She has completed exams in ADAPT, RAD and is a certified teacher for Acrobatic Arts.

Studio Manager

Born and raised in Saskatoon, Erica began her dance training at the age of 2 at Kathleen Eckroth’s School of Dance. At the age of 6 Erica moved to continue her dance training under the teachers of Studio One, where she danced competitively until the age of 18. Throughout her dancing with Studio One, Erica attended competitions and conventions throughout Saskatchewan, Alberta and Las Vegas.

Erica has worked as the studio manager and an instructor for Studio One since 2011. When not at the studio, Erica keeps busy with her soon-to-be 3 kids and husband. Erica is excited to continue watching dancers experience their joy and passion for dance, and helping families feel at home at Studio One!

Dance Instructor

For the past 17 years Sasha has been working professionally in the dance industry. During his time he has worked on movies (Another Cinderella Story, Spectacular!, etc.), TV shows, live performances and teaching across the world. His credits include working with Selena Gomez, Serena Ryder, Carly Rae Jepson, and Kristen Bell, to name a few.

Miss Bailey Doucette

Dance Instructor

With over a decade of teaching experience and a lifelong passion for dance, Miss Bailey is a dedicated and dynamic dance educator and choreographer based in Saskatchewan. Beginning her training at the age of three, she has cultivated a strong foundation in multiple disciplines including Hip Hop/Street Styles, Jazz, Lyrical, and Ballet. A proud graduate of La Danse School of Dance in Saskatoon, she continued to refine her technique and artistry through post-graduate training with Level Up Dance Company and ODNT.

Throughout her teaching career, Miss Bailey has worked with numerous studios and school. Her teaching approach balances discipline with creativity and emphasizes not only technical development but also the historical and cultural context behind movement.

Her commitment to growth extends beyond her students — she consistently engages in research and training to evolve her own practice. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) from the University of Saskatchewan, and has completed the Module One Acrobatic Arts Teacher Certification, as well as First Aid and CPR certification.

Her choreography has been recognized at several regional competitions, earning awards at events such as Spring Stars, Infusion Dance Festival, and the Prince Albert Festival of Dance. She has also choreographed for high-profile showcases including the Saskatoon Blades and Harlem Globetrotters halftime performances, Disney Performing Arts OnStage, and Nuit Blanche Saskatoon.

Driven by passion and professionalism, Miss Bailey strives to create a safe, inclusive, and inspiring space for students to express themselves and grow as both dancers and individuals. Miss Bailey is looking forward the becoming a part of the Studio One dance family and meeting so many amazing new dancers!

Mr. Gunner Tropeau

Dance Instructor/Assistant

Gunner started dancing at Studio One at the age of 3. His passion for dance started with hip hop; however, as the years went on his passion grew for all types of dance. Gunner’s favourite aspect of dance is performing onstage and being able to showcase abilities in movement.

Gunner is inspired by the progress of dancers and watching choreography evolve throughout the year. Gunner is known for his partnering and lifting skills, as well as his storytelling through Lyrical and Contemporary movement. He will further his dance education by assisting in classes and training at Studio One. In Fall 2021 he plans to move to L.A. to pursue his professional career in dance.

Gunner is very excited to teach at Studio One and share his love of dance with students and help them reach their full potential!

Laura

Miss Laura Cey

Dance Instructor

Laura began dancing at the age of 10 at Studio One after being a competitive gymnast. Dance instantly became her passion. She trained in a variety of styles and dance competitively until the age of 18. After high school, she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the U of S. Since 2012, she has danced professionally in Singapore, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama and India. Laura has worked with many world-renowned choreographers and danced alongside famous Bollywood stars such as Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar and Jacqueline Fernandez, to name a few. Laura is excited to share her passion of dance with her students while helping them grow in a comforting and encouraging environment!

Mr. Kelly Woodley

Dance Instructor

Kelly began his training at the age of 5 at Diane Will Dance Studio and hasn’t looked back since. He has taken exams in A.D.A.P.T, R.A.D and CDTA, and is a member of the CDTA stage division as well as a certified teacher in Acrobatic Arts.
Kelly has been teaching dance across the province since the age of 18 and has enjoyed working with many dancers of all ages.

Mr. Nicholas Turuk

Dance Instructor

Nic was born and raised outside of North Battleford and began dancing at the age of 12 at the Dance Connection. Starting with Hip Hop, he continued to explore different styles of dance and eventually graduated with experience in Tap, Hip Hop, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Contemporary and Musical Theatre.

Nic has completed his CDTA advanced tap exam and RAD Advanced 1 Ballet exam. Outside of teaching, Nic works full-time as an investment analyst at Wellington-Altus Private Wealth. This is Nic’s sixth year teaching at Studio One. With Hip Hop being his specialty, he has a passion for teaching rhythm and style to boys of all ages.

He is excited to continue growing the Boy’s Hip Hop Program this year and is looking forward to sharing his passion for Hip Hop.

Miss Hanna Mullock

Dance Instructor

Hanna fell in love with dance at the age of 5 while training at Studio One R.P. Dance. She is trained in various styles including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Street. Throughout her training, she was able to dance with The Saskatchewan Dance Project under the direction of Ashley Berrns and Braiden Stevenson, as well as The Abiding Lines Dance Company under the direction of Kara Dubyk. Hanna has travelled all throughout North America getting to work with many of the top choreographers in the world..

Her professional career has taken her to Vancouver training with The Source Dance Company under the direction of Joanne Pesusich and The Professional Semester at Broadway Dance Centre based in New York City. Hanna has also worked for the Royal Caribbean International on board the Majesty of the Seas and has had the opportunity to perform in TV and Film. Hanna is currently completing her ADAPT Teachers Training Certification specializing in Jazz and Tap. Hanna’s constant want to learn and share her passion of dance with others makes her a sought out dancer and choreographer.

Miss Sarah Santoro

Sarah has had a love for dance since she was little. She grew up dancing and training in Saskatoon. Her teaching career began at The Dance Connection in North Battleford, where she has taught for over 20 years.

Sarah completed her Teacher Certification in Tap and is a full member with the CDTA. She loves teaching all genres of dance and kids of all ages. Sarah is looking forward to her first year as a member of Studio One’s Artistic Team!

Miss Summer Tropeau

Dance Instructor and Assistant

Summer started her dance journey at the age of 2 at Studio One. Over the past 14 years she has trained in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Pointe, Acro and Flamenco. Her love for dance has taken her to numerous competitions and conventions. Summer has been assisting Miss Tammy in classes and choreography for the past 4 years and loves helping dancers learn new steps and perfecting their technique. She is excited to be part of the Studio One team and looks forward to seeing students thrive and continue developing their passion for dance!

Miss Vicki View

Dance Instructor

Vicki View is a multi-faceted teacher and choreographer who originally hails from
Saskatchewan. She grew up studying a multitude of genres of dance including Jazz, Tap, Ballet,
Lyrical, Modern, and Musical Theatre.
Vicki has toured and worked with many international convention circuits. During this time, she
was awarded an achievement scholarship to the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts in
Toronto where she studied dance, theatre, and acting. Vicki later moved to Vancouver where
she danced professionally and trained with companies such as the Source Dance Company,
Lamondance, Rukus Dance Productions, and the Goh Ballet.
In 2005, Vicki had the privilege of joining the Canadian Forces Show Tour as a co-choreographer
and dancer for their Afghanistan tour. Vicki later embarked upon a career with Norwegian
Cruise Lines on a world wide tour where she performed in the production casts onboard. Upon
returning, Vicki became a choreographer and adjudicator for Brazil’s acclaimed International
Dance Seminar.
Vicki has been teaching for 20 years and has been recognized for her versatility in many styles.
Her choreography has garnered her provincial recognition and many choreography awards
across North America. Since moving to Kelowna, Vicki has had the honour of receiving the
Okanagan Arts Council Award for her achievements and accomplishments in dance.
In 2020, Vicki became co-owner of Lake Country School of Dance where she continues to
mentor the competitive program. She looks forward to joining the faculty at Studio One this
year and is excited to share her passion of dance with all her students.
