Braiden
Stevenson began dancing at five years old, at Lanigan Dance
Dynamics. Starting with tap he added all other disciplines over the
years. At age thirteen he attended the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Summer
School, and stayed for 2 consecutive years in the full time
professional training program. There he had the honor of performing
with the company in The Nutcracker both years. At fifteen he moved
home to Lanigan where he enjoyed going back to all other types of
dance, and playing catch-up with his Tap and Jazz exams. Braiden
received honours in his C.T.D.A. Advanced Tap and Jazz Exams, as
well as a 91% in his R.A.D. Intermediate Ballet exam. He moved to
North Battleford to continue his training under Virginia Winterhalt.
It was in North Battleford where Braiden really found his passion
for dance. In 2006 he was chosen as the “Performer of the Festival”
at the Battleford’s Dance Festival. After graduating he spent 7
months in Japan dancing at the Tokyo Disney Resort. Princess Cruises
was next, working on board the Grand and Sea Princess vessels,
traveling to 23 countries in his 16 months on board. It was then
back to Japan, but this time due to a knee injury followed by
surgery his stay was only 4 months. Braiden then took time to heal
and retrain in Toronto and Vancouver. After 6 months in Canada he
went back to sea, working for Royal Caribbean, on board the Liberty
of the Seas. There Braiden learned aerial arts such as hoops, silks,
bungee and hand-loop. Braiden is thrilled and excited to be joining
the talented Studio One team, and looks forward to meeting you all.
